Concussion Information

OHC Baseline Testing

Baseline testing for all OHC athletes is required to be completed at the beginning of the fall season. This testing is important because it measures an athlete’s normal brain function before an injury occurs, providing an individualized benchmark for accurate post-injury comparisons, objective cognitive tracking, and safer return to play decisions.

OHC’s baseline testing is administered at Pro Sports and Spinal Rehab: 12337 S Rte 59 Ste. 119 Plainfield, IL 60585. Phone: 815-267-6263

The cost of baseline testing is covered by the club for our athletes. Please mention you are with OHC when making your appointment.

Action Plan

If you suspect that a player has a concussion, you should take the following steps:

  1. Remove athlete from play
  2. Ensure athlete is evaluated by an appropriate health care professional. Do not try to judge the seriousness of the injury yourself.
  3. Inform athlete's parents or guardians about the known or possible concussion and give them the fact sheet on concussion.
  4. Allow athlete to return to play only with permission from an appropriate health care professional.

It's better to miss one game than the whole season!
