Oswego JV Endures Challenging Weekend vs. Maine, Neuqua, and Minooka

Oswego JV faced a tough slate this past weekend, falling in all three matchups but showing flashes of offensive creativity in a competitive Saturday performance.

The weekend opened on Friday with a 10–0 loss to Maine, who came out firing and outshot Oswego 41–8. Goalie Drane stood tall in net with 31 saves, facing overwhelming pressure throughout the game. Despite the lopsided outcome, Oswego held discipline and took no penalties in the contest.

Saturday saw an offensive spark in a 7–4 loss to Neuqua. Blake Cetnar got Oswego on the board in the second period off a feed from Judd, followed by an unassisted tally from Logan Oster, who later set up Jake Reppy for both his goals in a two-goal performance. Outshooting Neuqua 35–27, Oswego showed they could create scoring opportunities, but it just wasn’t enough to climb ahead.

On Sunday, Oswego wrapped up the weekend against Minooka, falling 7–1. Blankenburg netted the team’s lone goal amid a persistent offensive push that saw Oswego register 27 shots. Drane again stood strong, turning away 28 shots before Minooka pulled away behind a hat trick from Carrico and steady depth scoring.

With the three losses, Oswego JV’s record falls to 3–9 on the season. The team will look to take positives — especially in terms of offensive growth and shot generation — as they prepare for the next stretch of their schedule.
