Nov 1&2 - Oswego Varsity STUNS Warriors to Finish Off Impressive Weekend Sweep!

Saturday, November 1 — Oswego 1, Lincoln-Way 0

Oswego earned a hard-fought 1–0 win over Lincoln-Way on Saturday, improving to 3–7 on the season. The game remained locked in a defensive stalemate until the third period, when Justin Carbone broke through by burying a feed from Duncan Kubek for the eventual game-winner.

Lincoln-Way poured on pressure all afternoon, outshooting Oswego 46–16, but Carter delivered one of the most impressive performances of the year with a flawless 46-save shutout. Oswego also had to battle through penalty trouble, with Quinn and Jack Smith each taking a pair of minors, but the penalty kill stood tall and kept Lincoln-Way off the board. It was a resilient, bend-but-don’t-break effort that set the tone for the weekend.

Sunday, November 2 — Oswego 2, Warriors 1

Oswego followed up Saturday’s win with a stunning 2–1 upset over the highly favored Warriors on Sunday, improving to 4–7 and completing a statement weekend sweep. The Warriors struck first with a goal from White in the opening frame, but Oswego responded with a huge second period. Jack Smith tied the game on a power-play blast, capitalizing on a Warriors penalty to shift momentum. Minutes later, Jack Fiore buried the eventual game-winner off a clean setup from Justin Carbone, giving Oswego its first lead of the night.

Despite being outshot 37–13, Oswego held firm behind another standout performance from Carter, who turned away 35 shots and controlled rebounds under heavy pressure. The Warriors took multiple minors — including penalties to Nied, Harding, Sprau (twice), and Newburg — giving Oswego key opportunities to slow their rhythm. Oswego stayed disciplined, taking just one penalty (a roughing call to Smith), and locked down the third period to secure one of their most impressive wins of the season!
